Overview

The idea for Learning Alerts first came up when a friend mentioned over dinner that he wished he could get simple reminders to study his flashcards. A woman at the table added that she would want reminders to take a break from working at the computer for a couple minutes every hour. It seems that we all have something that we wish we could get reminders to work on, whether it's a new concept that we're trying to learn or a good habit that we're trying to form. And we all know that repetition can do wonders if only we remember to stick with it.

Unfortunately, the options out there didn't seem to fit the task. For example, the built in alarm clock would require tons of effort to set up 32 different alarms to go off every 15 minutes for 8 hours a day. Most alarms also require your attention, demanding to be shut off before going away. What if you just want a short vibration and maybe a ping to remind you to stand up for a minute?

Learning Alerts is meant to fill this void. It has been a great help for us, and I hope it can help others too, to stay focused and to become the better people that we know we can be.

Please send feedback with your experiences, and any ideas for ways to make things better for all of us.
